    • “Seeking a suitable property to accommodate 10 adults for a long weekend within easy walking distance of Keswick town centre, Latrigg House looked to fit the bill - and proved to be more than fit for purpose. Four bedrooms - all with en suite facilities - and a separate downstairs WC all came in handy, with the Freeview TVs in each room well used for both TV and radio reception. A NAD amplifier in the kitchen has a connecting wire allowing connection to an ipod and the speakers are located in the ceiling - very cool! There's a dedicated parking area outside the house (which is built at right angles to the street) is big enough for three decent sized vehicles) and decor throughout was very good, with only a couple of small stains on walls preventing the accurate description of immaculate. The kitchen is well-stocked both in terms of electrical appliances and crockery etc. Some mean breakfasts were cooked - and the dishwasher coped admirably with the remains.... The views towards the hills are wonderful and the air of peace is priceless. Nit-picking, the seating area in the kitchen is cramped when near full occupancy, the toaster would benefit from an upgrade to a four slot model and the tin opener isn't the best. Wifi was a little variable and the lack of any welcome information was noticeable but not an issue (the file of paperwork has manuals for the washing machine and the wifi code etc but nothing else - resulting in us only belatedly realising that the owners had gone to the trouble of subscribing to Netflix). The excellent rating is completely deserved though and I look forward to returning. Quite simply, wonderful - thanks for taking the trouble to prepare it so well.     • “Overall we were very happy with the holiday. Any questions we had before setting out on the holiday were promptly and fully answered for us. A washing line would have facilitated the drying of non-tumble dry items. Not all the cooking pans were absolutely clean. Elsewhere the house was immaculate. The twin beds were each made up with doubled-over double duvets - effectively at 2 x 10.5 tog each bed. Even in normal temperatures a 21 tog duvet would have been excessive. A stick-on blind on the Velux window at the top of the stairs on the second floor would have helped reduce heat and light.”

    • “Great property fab facilities we all loved it. Confusion over provision of towels. Listing said there was and also there wasn’t. Couldn’t get answer when I called to check so took towels, one member of the party even bought one on the day but when we arrived towels were on the beds. Also television in Kingsize room had a blue light flashing in middle of night. Couldn’t find socket to switch off television.”

The Property

Latrigg House is a fantastic holiday home located in the popular market town of Keswick. Furnished and equipped to a very high standard it is a welcoming base from which to explore the Lake District. Being one of our dog friendly cottages in the Lake District, two dogs are welcome here.
Keswick is a vibrant and historic market town in one of the Lake District's most stunning areas of natural beauty. Keswick offers a wonderful mix of tradition and present day surprises including fine quality shops, friendly inns and restaurants. The shores of Derwentwater are a very gentle stroll away why not hop on a launch and relax whilst cruising along the lake stopping off or passing by many landings which give access to stunning countryside and pretty lakeland villages.
Latrigg House is a beautifully restored modern, charming and characterful holiday cottage, ideally located within level walking distance of Keswick town centre. Furnished and equipped to a very high standard the cottage offers holidaymakers everything needed for a memorable Lake District holiday. The cottage is a perfect base from which to explore the surrounding landscape with walking and sightseeing opportunities directly from the doorstep, at the end of a long day exploring you can relax on the small patio which has a picnic bench
The cottage has gas central heating and comprises:

Lounge with karndene flooring smart TV, Netflix and wood burning stove.
Modern and luxurious kitchen/diner with central island and breakfast bar, ceramic hob, electric oven, combination microwave oven, fridge, freezer, drinks fridge, dishwasher, wall mounted smart TV and music system.

Regional Information

KESWICK Bassenthwaite 7 miles, Ullswater 20 minutes. Cockermouth 13 miles. The popular town of Keswick is the holiday centre of the North of the Lake District and has plenty to offer the visitor at any time of year. The town boasts numerous shops and restaurants to suit all tastes, as well as offering miniature golf, excellent parks, the famous Theatre by the Lake, a charming cinema, the Pencil Museum, a climbing wall, fishing and great mountain biking opportunities, whilst the beautiful lake of Derwentwater at the head of the stunning Borrowdale Valley is only a few minutes walk from the town centre. Nearby, between Braithwaite and Buttermere is the beautiful Newlands Valley, while picturesque Bassenthwaite Lake is well worth a visit. From a gentle countryside ramble to a challenging hike up Skiddaw or the famous Catbells, there really is something for everyone. Visit Castlerigg Stone Circle, the Jennings Brewery and Mirehouse, a grand house and gardens on the shores of the Bassenthwaite Lake, or take a fabulous boat trip around Derwentwater. With plenty of attractions for the kids, lovely parks and the nearby Lake District Wildlife Park this is a great Lakeland destination whatever the time of year.
