    “The house is spacious with high quality bathrooms and decor.”

    However the wi fi failed to work after our first night's stay and was not fixed in spite of several requests to do so. The kitchen was woefully under equipped which made catering for our group of 6 challenging at times (and would be more so for 10), the kitchen layout is very inconvenient so that the dining area is squeezed in - eating for 6 was a tight fit (again impossible to sit 10). The lighting in the lounge is inadequate - impossible to read in the evenings, making it useless to be in ...

The lighting in the lounge is inadequate - impossible to read in the evenings, making it useless to be in except to watch TV. There is not enough seating in the lounge for 10 - again a squeeze for 6 people. The bedrooms had no drawer space so we could not unpack properly. The patio is just a picnic bench which is tucked away in front of the parking area. Every room has a TV and there is a NAD amplifier in the kitchen - so lots of tech but lack of the basic essentials. I have written to Sykes in more detail about these issues because I see that others have raised them in the past

Latrigg House is a fantastic holiday home located in the popular market town of Keswick.

Furnished and equipped to a very high standard it is a welcoming base from which to explore the Lake District.

Being one of our dog friendly cottages in the Lake District, two dogs are welcome here. Keswick is a vibrant and historic market town in one of the Lake District's most stunning areas of natural beauty.

Keswick offers a wonderful mix of tradition and present day surprises including fine quality shops, friendly inns and restaurants.

The shores of Derwentwater are a very gentle stroll away why not hop on a launch and relax whilst cruising along the lake stopping off or passing by many landings which give access to stunning countryside and pretty lakeland villages. Latrigg House is a beautifully restored modern, charming and characterful holiday cottage, ideally located within level walking distance of Keswick town centre.

Furnished and equipped to a very high standard the cottage offers holidaymakers everything needed for a memorable Lake District holiday.

The cottage is a perfect base from which to explore the surrounding landscape with walking and sightseeing opportunities directly from the doorstep, at the end of a long day exploring you can relax on the small patio which has a picnic bench The cottage has gas central heating and comprises: Lounge with karndene flooring smart TV, Netflix and wood burning stove. Modern and luxurious kitchen/diner with central island and breakfast bar, ceramic hob, electric oven, combination microwave oven, fridge, freezer, drinks fridge, dishwasher, wall mounted smart TV and music system. Utility room with sink, washing machine and tumble dryer. Cloakroom with hand basin and WC. First floor Landing with seating area. Double bedroom with en-suite bathroom with shower over bath, hand basin, WC and heated towel rail. Double bedroom with king size bed and en-suite bathroom with shower over bath, hand basin, WC and heated towel rail (Please note the bed in this room can be converted into twin beds, please advise at the time of booking if you require twin beds). Second floor: Double bedroom with en-suite bathroom with shower over bath, hand basin, WC and heated towel rail. Family bedroom with twin beds and full size bunk beds, en-suite bathroom with shower over bath, hand basin, WC and heated towel rail. All gas, electric, bed linen and towels included. Free Wi-Fi provided. Private parking for 3 cars. Small patio with picnic bench.

Two bedrooms on the second floor: 1x double bedroom, en-suite shower over bath, basin and WC plus heated towel rail; 1x family bedroom, twin beds, full-size bunks plus en-suite shower over bath, basin and WC with heated towel rail. Ground floor cloakroom with WC and basin. First floor landing and seating area.

KESWICK

Bassenthwaite 7 miles, Ullswater 20 minutes. Cockermouth 13 miles.

The popular town of Keswick is the holiday centre of the North of the Lake District and has plenty to offer the visitor at any time of year. The town boasts numerous shops and restaurants to suit all tastes, as well as offering miniature golf, excellent parks, the famous Theatre by the Lake, a charming cinema, the Pencil Museum, a climbing wall, fishing and great mountain biking opportunities, whilst the beautiful lake of Derwentwater at the head of the stunning Borrowdale Valley is only a few minutes walk from the town centre. Nearby, between Braithwaite and Buttermere is the beautiful Newlands Valley, while picturesque Bassenthwaite Lake is well worth a visit. From a gentle countryside ramble to a challenging hike up Skiddaw or the famous Catbells, there really is something for everyone. Visit Castlerigg Stone Circle, the Jennings Brewery and Mirehouse, a grand house and gardens on the shores of the Bassenthwaite Lake, or take a fabulous boat trip around Derwentwater. With plenty of attractions for the kids, lovely parks and the nearby Lake District Wildlife Park this is a great Lakeland destination whatever the time of year.
