  • “Beckwood is in a great location and has great views however the cottage seems to be neglected by the owners and management company.”

It needs a good deep clean and attention is needed inside and outside. The dog poo bin, by no means a small bin, was full to the top at our arrival. Which meant we had to use the normal black bin for our dogs waste. There is a green garden bench which is missing most of the paint and the paint is flaking from the outside and inside from the window frames too. The windows are dirty and so are the inside of the frames. Most of them having black dirt around the frames. We were left one tea towel ...

We were left one tea towel for the week. No hand towel in the kitchen. The cupboards around the dishwasher are dirty and the back of the pull out larder is dirty too. The kickboard at the end of the kitchen unit is sticking out and seems to come off. No sweeping brush in the cottage. The settees are very uncomfortable with black marks from the heads of previous visitors. The master bedroom is advertised having a balcony, only thing is you can’t open the door and the door handle on the outside of the balcony is nearly off. So couldn’t use it. The shower cubicles in the en suit and main bathroom need a deep clean. The seals on the bottom are displaying black mould and the light fittings are covered in dust. The blinds in the master bedroom are fraying and look filthy and so is the blind in the bathroom. The blind in one of the double rooms hasn’t got a cord anymore to wind it up or down. Sykes has been contacted during the stay to inform them of all the downfalls and a complaint has been opened and pictures of the faults have been forwarded to Sykes too.
