    The property is in a great location - only a short walk from Ambleside with stunning views of the surrounding hills. Even the grounds surrounding the property are fantastic and were full of wildlife which added to the experience. ...

    The property is in a great location - only a short walk from Ambleside with stunning views of the surrounding hills. Even the grounds surrounding the property are fantastic and were full of wildlife which added to the experience. Inside it looked like there had been some recent redecoration. The main bedrooms were very comfortable and have incredible views. The third room is cosy but still comfortable as a double. Good sized kitchen and living areas too. We were a group of two couples and this was an absolutely perfect place to stay. May be tougher with kids due to the stairs to access. Water pressure was a little low in one of the bathrooms but that was a minor thing. Will definitely be back!

    Thank you. We spent a lot of time and money over the winter responding to previous guest feedback and not just decoration ( new cleaner, new mattresses, replacement windows, new fridge and roof repairs )so I am delighted that you found the flat as you would wish to. Previous guests have commented on the water pressure in the shower room but I thought we had resolved it. I have contacted the plumber who will investigate and resolve. Property Owner

Sethera was once part of a grand house built for the heir of the Cunard family, nowadays hosting several holiday apartments for lovers of the Lakes, perfectly suited to be a resting spot for a family or group of four.

Relax in the evening after a long day of walking and put your feet up on the sofa, set within a charming living room/diner, you can put a film on the TV with a hot drink in hand.

Prepare some hearty food in the beautiful kitchen, with delightful décor you will love spending time in here and using all of the appliances to present a dish to your family and friends at the dining table.

Retire to one of the two bedrooms, with a king-size and a double to choose from, the king-size benefitting from a sparkling en-suite bathroom with an indulgent roll-top bath for a relaxing soak, while a shower room serves the other bedroom.

You can roam the 5-acres of grounds and woodland where nature and wildlife such as deer, birds and badgers.

Situated in the Waterhead area of Ambleside with Lake Windermere on your doorstep, lake cruises can be enjoyed all year round, while the village of Ambleside has a large number of shops, bars and restaurants waiting to welcome you after a day of sightseeing.

There are numerous walks which can be taken right from the door including low level lake walks to some of the best mountains offering stunning panoramic views.

Sethera is the perfect place for a quiet, luxury couples break or a family getaway and is ideally placed for exploring the stunning scenery of Ambleside and the Lake District.

Lying at the northern tip of Lake Windermere, England’s largest lake, Ambleside makes a superb base for touring the central Lakes, with Grasmere and the Langdale Valley just a short drive away. There is plenty to do here - cruises, boat trips and watersports on Lake Windermere itself and numerous shops, restaurants and pubs in the village to suit all tastes. On the lakeside at Waterhead, the parkland offers lovely views down the lake and a short stretch of beach, whilst a walk in the other direction, following Stock Ghyll through woodland, will bring you to the entrancing waterfall of Stock Ghyll Force. Along with the Lake and the great walking on offer, Ambleside is also famous for its annual rushbearing ceremony and the diminutive 17th century “Bridge House” - one of the most photographed buildings in the Lake District and now the National Trust Information Centre.
