A stone's throw away there is a footpath which allows access to several miles of local woodland and countryside walks, and also a short walk away is the historical village of Cartmel which boasts charming streamside walks, quaint cobbled streets littered with antique shops, traditional pubs and the acclaimed Michelin Star-awarded L'Enclume restaurant, as well as the beautiful ancient Priory and the racecourse, it is known as being the prettiest village in the Lake District. Within driving distance is the popular and stunning Lake Windermere, where it is bustling with museums, cafes, an aquarium, historic sites, water sports and much more. In the other direction, there is the picturesque Edwardian seaside resort town of Grange-over-Sands, with its popular woodland views, delightful traffic-free promenade, a choice of golf courses and excellent bird watching opportunities.
