Hello , Many thanks for highlighting the Mattress cover which was annoying you. Pleased this didn't spoil your stay. After your visit we have replaced all mattress covers. This old Sail Makers' cottage is tucked away behind the Windermere Boat Club yet all cafes / shops and other amenities are a short 5 minuet walk away. The Famous & very popular Hole 'int Wall pub is just around the corner with its cosy roaring fire and good food. ( Charles Dickens drank here ) Bowness is great for just wandering around , chilling and visiting Lake Windermere which is also a short walk from the cottage. Come back soon. Property Owner

The property

An immaculately-presented terraced stone cottage, perfectly located in one of the oldest parts of Bowness-on-Windermere in the heart of the Lake District and next door to a boating club. This charming Bowness cottage has an open plan living area with little nooks and crannies - a gentle reminder that this former sailmaker's cottage dates back to the 19th century. With a well-equipped kitchen and two bedrooms, this Bowness cottage is perfect for holidays in this bustling lakeside town. A short stroll from this Bowness cottage takes you into the heart of the village, and all the excellent restaurants, bars and shops that are on the doorstep. The Glebe, the park nestling on the shores of Lake Windermere, is only a very short distance and has a pitch-and-putt course, tennis courts and play area. Overlooking the lake, it is a perfect place for enjoying the beautiful scenery on your doorstep. The Windermere Steamers also depart from The Glebe taking passengers up and down Lake Windermere to Brockhole, Ambleside and Lakeside. Row boats can also be hired and taken out on to the lake. Brockhole is the National Park's visitor centre and has some beautiful gardens and an adventure play area. It is also home to a treetop trek for the more adventurous guests. This part of the Lake District has a very wide appeal - perfect for families, with a host of watersports and mountain biking available, and great for couples wishing to enjoy the romantic beauty of the lakes and mountains. A lovely Bowness cottage for a year-round break.

Note: This property has a Good Housekeeping bond of £200.
