Outside, a flagged area and gravel parking lie to the front, whilst to the rear is a sizeable lawned garden with patio area from where you can enjoy an early morning coffee or settle down with an alfresco meal at the end of a busy day. The cottage sits in an attractive, rural location enabling guests to enjoy lovely walks right from the front door. During the lambing and calving season, guests will see the farmer busy tending to their flock, giving a real flavour of this authentic country location. Nearby Kendal offers visitors shopping, eateries and various attractions including the Brewery Arts Centre, as well as Quaker Tapestry Museum and Abbot Hall Art Gallery. This is a super base from which to explore neighbouring regions including the old book town of Sedbergh in the Yorkshire Dales National Park, the historic town of Appleby in the beautiful Eden Valley or the ever-popular towns of Windermere, Bowness and Ambleside in the heart of Lakeland. SELSIDE NEAR KENDAL

Kendal 6 miles; Windermere 14 miles; Penrith 24 miles.

Situated 6 miles north of the nearby market town of Kendal, Selside is an area in the rolling foothills of the Shap fells with its own church and village hall. Used as a holiday base, Selside is within easy driving distance to the breathtaking Lake District via Windermere for the South Lakes or Penrith for the North Lakes. The Western Yorkshire Dales are also just a short, lovely drive away via the town of Sedburgh. The nearby town of Kendal (sometimes known as the Gateway to the Lakes), offers a wide variety of pubs and restaurants with the Brewery Arts Centre offering live entertainment and cinema, as well as excellent dining experiences. Selside also offers beautiful and peaceful countryside walks with inspiring views especially towards the Howgill Fells, known locally as the "sleeping elephants". An excellent location for a holiday.
