The property

This character semi-detached cottage is set in the pretty village of Grizebeck bordering the Lake District National Park. The cottage holds many original character features and is set in lovely countryside, making it a great place for a family get together or for groups of friends wishing to have an all action holiday or a quiet place to relax in the country. On entry to the property you are in the hallway. To the left is the galley-styled kitchen which is well-equipped to prepare some home-cooked meals to then enjoy on the large dining table at the end of the room; making it a great place to discuss plans for the day or to talk about that day’s adventures. From here leads you into the spacious sitting room with plenty of comfy sofas to relax in, then leading back to the hallway. When going upstairs the stairs split to either side, with a twin (zip/link can be super king-size on request) and a king-size double with TV on one side and a family room with three singles and a family bathroom on the other side. The rest of the rooms are on the lower ground floor with a king-size double with TV and a sofa, a double bedroom as well as two shower rooms with basin and WC and a utility room. From the lower ground floor, the door takes you out to the lovely enclosed back garden with a good-sized patio and furniture, making it a great place to dine alfresco or just sit out and enjoy the countryside. There is also a hot tub to enjoy which is well-covered within a bespoke slate and oak style gazebo to protect against the elements. Beyond the wall of the garden are further shared gardens with a natural pond area and stream running past which is great for spotting birds. A short walk takes you into the village of Grizebeck which has one pub serving local ales and evening meals and the garage has a small shop inside for papers and essentials. There are plenty of local walks in the area ranging from woodland walks to fell walks. A few minutes’ drive takes you to the village of Kirkby-in-Furness which is home to a general store, pubs and a railway station. The magnificent Duddon Valley is one of the prettiest valleys in the Lake District with the River Duddon running clear and blue through the countryside. Visit the market town of Ulverston which still holds a street market every Thursday or Saturday or take a trip to the Laurel and Hardy museum for something different. Further afield is Coniston Water with its’ many mountains and fells to explore. For a great day out take a visit to Windermere with a vast range of attractions, amenities, shops and restaurants to suit all tastes. Boats trips are available as well as a visit to Lakeside Aquarium and the Lakeside and Haverthwaite Railway also to be enjoyed.
