“We had a magical stay at the Old House.”
It is the most beautiful house, with a few quirks that add to the character of the experience. It could have been a little bit cleaner (Dusty, ovens not very clean, cupboards not clean, fire full of ash). Still does not detract from a fabulous stay. We are looking forward to booking our stay for next year! Thank you so much!

Step into your lovely new home-from-home, wherein you will discover a range of tastefully-presented living spaces, including a well-equipped kitchen where the chosen chef can rustle up a delicious home-cooked dinner, a dining table with ample seating, and an inviting sitting area complete with a sleek Smart TV and a woodburning stove.
When the sun is shining, head outdoors to the enclosed lawned garden, where you can indulge in a glass of your favourite tipple as you watch the dog play.

If you can tear yourself from your wonderful new dwelling, head out on foot to explore what Troutbeck Bridge has to offer.
A short walk will bring you to your nearest convenience store, which sells homely essentials to supply your stay, whilst a hearty pub lunch can be tucked into at the nearby The Sun Inn. A brief car trip south will take you into neighbouring Windermere, where you can stop into Booths for upmarket groceries to assemble a picnic that can be enjoyed upon Queen Adelaide's Hill, sit down for a meal at The Tilly Bar and Kitchen, and hop on board a boat trip across the waters of Lake Windermere provided by the Windermere Jetty Museum. Further afield, be sure to visit some of the iconic landmarks scattered around the Lake District, including the Ambleside Roman Fort and Stagshaw Gardens in Ambleside, the Holehird Gardens in Troutbeck, the National Trust sites of Wray Castle and Fell Foot, as well as the awe-striking mountain peaks of Scafell Pike and Helvellyn.

Lake Windermere boasts a range of lakeside activities, including trips to the famous Aquarium and the renowned Grizedale Forest Park, whilst children will enjoy the World of Beatrix Potter in nearby Bowness, where technology brings her characters to life.
