“We had a fantastic stay at Ananda House.”
The property is extremely well furnished; the bed is a full super king size and extremely comfortable, the sofas are great for cosy evenings and the general fit and finish of the place is lovely. Our dog absolutely loved the garden, which is fully enclosed so we had no worries letting him run around freely. There was plenty of pans and cooking utensils for us, and both the hob and oven are clearly very new and work brilliantly. The house is also positioned really well, it's a short walk down into the local shops and if your dog needs a longer run, there's a massive playing field straight across the road. It's in a quiet area and the garden would be a perfect place to sit out in during the summer to relax with a book or three!
A couple of things which could be improved and to note:
- The entrance hallway has a fantastic warm radiator but unless we missed it there is absolutely nowhere to hang up wet coats after a rainy walk. It would be great if the owner could add a freestanding unit by the radiator. The same really applies for shoes, if you go for long walks you'll likely get muddy boots which it would be good to have a small rack for, just to keep them tidy.
- The shower is incredible, however the gap between the wall and the fixed glass screen where you get into the shower is fairly small and extremely close to the extremely hot vertical radiator, so you have to be careful not to injure yourself when getting in/out. We managed ok but might have been a struggle if we were larger! Would also have been good to have had more space to hang wet towels (maybe a towel rail instead of the radiator?), this would probably have been more of an issue if there was more than just the two of us staying.
Overall though, our experience of the house was great and we'd definitely come back again.
