There was everything that we needed albeit wifi but we weren't in long enough to be bothered. Coming back from the various walks, it was a nice and comfortable place to relax. It was very spacious, modern and clean. Definitely recommend”

    • “This was a lovely apartment that was very close to town and to other beautiful sites across the Lake District. It was a very welcome site after long walks and climbs. The kitchen was brilliantly stocked and spacious and the chairs were incredibly comfortable. Unfortunately, there were no lifts, but we were able to live with that. There was an incident when the electric gates did not work, but the agency managed to resolve it very quickly. The place was impeccably tidy and clean and was very much a home away from home. When it was time to go, we were very sad to leave.”

Only 50meters to main shopping street but the back road was quiet enough. Night storage radiators should have been on for arrival as it was only 7degrees and not for the less able as it is on the third floor. We really enjoyed our stay.”

    • “We booked the apartment online and rather last minute but we were impressed with the internal photos.We were given a code to access the key box but on arriving at our apartment at 7pm we found the key didn't fit the apartment door so after several phone calls we went back to the office and collected the correct key(which was in an envelope addressed to someone else)We were assured the apartment had an iron but there wasn't one.We did enjoy our holiday as the apartment was well equipped , very clean and very close to the shops, restaurants and station.However we felt let down by the service from the letting office,”

Easy walk to the lake and lots of things to do nearby. Our only niggles were that the car park had little room for maneuver when full for bigger cars and that there were no towels provided.”

    • “The apartment was clean, well equipped and exactly as it looked in the photos. The position was excellent for the walks we wanted to do in Ambleside, Grasmere and Bowness. Although the apartment is in the centre of Windermere it is quiet and having a dedicated parking space was a bonus. We ate out every night in Windermere and there is plenty to choose from and only a couple of minutes walk from the apartment. We even found a delightful Italian cafe/restaurant that served an excellent choice of breakfast meals from 8.00 am. Our only negatives were the comfort of the corner suite and the two single beds hadn't been zipped to make a double bed (I had telephoned a week before our booking and requested this as it is given as an option in the advertising and been assured it would be done but sadly it wasn't). The apartment definitely contributed to us having a great break.”

    • “The apartment was excellent, although potential holidaymakers should be made aware that it is on the 4th floor with quite a few stairs to climb. Although there was a dryer situated on the ground floor the door to the room in which it was situated was permanently locked and we had no means to access it, Not ideal when there is washing to dry - which is not unusual when holidaying in the Lake District!! The apartment was well equipped but an ironing board and iron would have been good. We carefully followed the directions provided but could find no trace of Cumberland Court on the left (as stated in the directions) it was actually situated on the right!! (yes we did enter the road from the direction stated). Apart from these minor problems this was one of the best properties we have rented for a holiday. Extremely well situated and very peaceful considering how close to all the amenities it is.”

Cumbria Court is a beautiful modern apartment which is conveniently situated in the centre of Windermere. Ideal for couples or families looking for a central base from which to explore the Lake District.
A lovely home from home apartment perfectly located in a quiet area of the village of Windermere with an array of local shops, pretty cafes and a wide selection of traditional pubs. Bowness and the shores of Lake Windermere are both within walking distance, shops, bars, restaurants and visitor attractions are plentiful. From the lakeshore you can hire boats or take a cruise on the lake steamer which cruises the full length of the lake daily, stopping on the way at various locations. Head north by car or bus from Windermere to the lively walkers retreat of Ambleside or to the pretty village of Grasmere famously known for ‘Grasmere gingerbread' whichever route you take the scenery will take your breath away.
Cumbria court is a delightful apartment with a light and airy feel it has been furnished and equipped to a very high standard. Being on the third floor it boasts lovely views from the lounge to the fells in the distance.

BOWNESS-ON-WINDERMERE Windermere Train Station 1.5 miles: Ambleside 5 miles; Kendal 7 miles. The vibrant twin towns of Bowness and Windermere hold enduring appeal for visitors to the Lake District National Park, with each providing a range of nearby attractions, amenities, shops and restaurants to suit all tastes. A variety of boat trips and boat hire are available from Windermere Lake Cruises in Bowness to Brockhole, Ambleside and Lakeside (at the southern end of the lake where the Lakeside Aquarium and the Lakeside and Haverthwaite Railway are situated). The World of Beatrix Potter attraction and the Old Laundry theatre are 1.5 miles away. Orrest Head, where Alfred Wainwright was inspired to write his series of iconic guidebooks, is a 30-minute walk to enjoy the spectacular panorama of far-reaching views over the lake and surrounding fells. Brockhole, which offers high wire tree top experiences, is less than two miles away, and the historic villages of Grasmere, Ambleside and Troutbeck are a short drive away. There are also a variety of watersports on offer for the more energetic at marine centres along the lake.
