    “House was very clean on arrival and the welcome pack in the kitchen was very welcome.”

    The living room, kitchen and bathroom on the bottom floor (basement) were cold and had a smell of damp, even with the heating on they never warmed up as well as the rest of the house. Beds were hard and some what uncomfortable. House is in a great location to explore Windermere.

The property

Dizzy Duck Cottage is a charming, mid-terrace cottage, set in a quiet cul-de-sac but centrally located in the trendy town of Windermere.

There are many shops, bars and restaurants literally just around the corner.

The layout of the double glazed and centrally heated accommodation is as follows: Ground Floor: (access to road and permit parking). Hallway with boot and coat area. Second Sitting Room with electric fire, Flat Screen TV and DVD player. Double bedroom. Lower Floor Ground Floor: (access to small enclosed rear yard) Kitchen/Dining Room with electric oven, gas hob, fridge, freezer, dishwasher and dining table for 6 people. Sitting room with a feature fireplace and gas fire, 40 inch wall mounted Smart TV and music system. Shower room with combi boiler fed shower, basin and WC. First Floor: Family bathroom with electric shower over bath, basin and WC. Master bedroom. Single bedroom. Boiler cupboard with washing machine. All gas, electric, bed linen and towels are provided. Highchair provided. Broadband, Wi-Fi provided. On street parking permits for 1 car on specified local roads on a first come, first served basis. Small rear yard with garden furniture and outside tap for muddy paws. No Smoking Conveniently located to all Windermere's attractions including railway station and bus routes. Cinema and lake approximately 25 minutes walk or 3 minutes by bus or car. PLEASE NOTE A £50 refundable good housekeeping bond is payable.

Windermere Train Station 1.5 miles: Ambleside 5 miles; Kendal 7 miles.

The vibrant twin towns of Bowness and Windermere hold enduring appeal for visitors to the Lake District National Park, with each providing a range of nearby attractions, amenities, shops and restaurants to suit all tastes. A variety of boat trips and boat hire are available from Windermere Lake Cruises in Bowness to Brockhole, Ambleside and Lakeside (at the southern end of the lake where the Lakeside Aquarium and the Lakeside and Haverthwaite Railway are situated). The World of Beatrix Potter attraction and the Old Laundry theatre are 1.5 miles away. Orrest Head, where Alfred Wainwright was inspired to write his series of iconic guidebooks, is a 30-minute walk to enjoy the spectacular panorama of far-reaching views over the lake and surrounding fells. Brockhole, which offers high wire tree top experiences, is less than two miles away, and the historic villages of Grasmere, Ambleside and Troutbeck are a short drive away. There are also a variety of watersports on offer for the more energetic at marine centres along the lake. The area is ideally situated for exploring all that this region has to offer, whether by foot, bike, car, railway or bus; and is within easy reach of attractions such as the spectacular Langdales, Beatrix Potter’s Hill Top House at Far Sawrey, Coniston, Grizedale Forest Park, with its delightful walks and famous outdoor sculptures, mountain biking and “Go-Ape” adventure park, Ullswater, Kendal, Keswick, stone circles, Roman forts and England's highest mountain, Scafell Pike.
