“This is a lovely cottage in a great location.”

We have a six and five year old and found that the cottage had everything we needed. There is a parking space at the back of the house which is great as there is limited spaces in the village. There are toys and games provided and kids dvds. The house is clean and very spacious and I can not fault it. There is a nice park at the end of the road and the local shops, pubs and restaurants are a one minute walk away. ...

There are toys and games provided and kids dvds. The house is clean and very spacious and I can not fault it. There is a nice park at the end of the road and the local shops, pubs and restaurants are a one minute walk away. In terms of things to do with small kids, there is lots in the local area. You can walk up to Orrest Head from the cottage. It takes about 20 minutes and the views of the lake are amazing. We walked down the hill to Bowness most days. It takes about twenty minutes and there is lots to do there. We did a boat trip, visited the old style cinema and enjoyed the lake. There is also the Beatrix Potter museum here. Further a field we visited Wray Castle and Keswick. Both have great playgrounds for the kids. We also went to Coniston, and Grizedale Forest which were great days out. We also went to Brockhole which is a 5 minute drive away. It is nice to walk around and has a good play area but the activities are quite expensive and overpriced in my opinion. We had a fab week and would stay here again.
