“We had a brilliant weekend at copper beech cottage, just what we needed, if you're looking for somewhere that s really away from it all, this is the place, after a very stressful 6 months at work, we booked this due to location, fairly near to Coniston, but sounded completely away from it all (it s both , just what we wanted)
This is one of the most remote locations we have ever stopped at, without being that far away really, fairly near the Wilson arms at Torver or pubs /cafes at Coniston if you don't want to cook.”
Be aware the single-track lane at night when you first arrive is an experience, that is for sure, i would advise getting there in day light if at all possible.
But once there , if you've got good weather , the setting the cottage is in , is second to none , absolutely magical place , we only stopped 3 nights , i can only imagine it relax s you more as time goes on ,if you stay longer , sat out Sunday morning in the gleaming sunshine with that view , the only sound being the river and pheasants , totally what the doctor ordered , if you wanted you could get your weeks shopping in beforehand , and have an amazing week , in the garden / hot tub with walks from the door , never moving the car .(and hardly seeing anyone)
however, we had the old man of Coniston to climb Sunday, meeting family, perfect blue skies, meant the view from the top was totally breathtaking, over to the isle of man, Morecambe Bay, right down to the Yorkshire dales, and over to scafell pike /scafell the other way, equally as stunning the stary night sky view, including shooting star from the hot tub that night after a decent Sunday dinner at the Wilson arms beforehand. Yes, a great day.
really enjoyed the stay, thank you, already planning to go again
